Really random weekend. Had a friend in town visiting who knew a guy at work who knew the guy who was putting on the fireworks at a music festival called “Rock Ness” on the banks of Loch Ness. So anyway, he said he would put us on the list.
We were kinda sketched out that this was legit, so at the last minute on Friday night we decided to go for it and drive up Saturday to check it out. We packed up the car with the camping gear and cider (we forgot beer). We get there and head to the ticket booth to get the tickets. The ticket vendor told us there was no list for the fireworks company! Just great we drove 3 hours for nothing. After some talking, turns out we did have tickets and headed in.
Music festivals always amaze me. In the UK everyone dresses up in costumes like it is Halloween...... but a really strange version of Halloween. We met these random guys from England who dressed up like reindeer and Santa, but were also wearing army helmets and gas masks. Yep, kinda weird. The other thing weird about the UK is there are no garbage cans. Apparently if they are around people set fires to them or (think IRA and London tube/buses) put bombs in them. So the solution is no trash bins and garbage everywhere.
