Rock Climbing - Potrero, Mexico 2005

This was my second trip down to Potrero for some rock climbing. What can I say about this place, it is awesome! Over 1,000 sport routes, huge multi-pitch, and ratings from 5.7 up to 5.13. It has climbing for everyone. Not only that, but the climbers are friendly, the locals love the climbers, food is great, and the beer is cheap. What more could you want.

This trip, Mike Miles, Lauren Zuroweste, Susan Jang, and myself made the trip down in Mike’s SUV. Much better way compared to how Carolyn and I made the trip before.

Weather started out pretty rough. We made it to the camp site about midnight and set up our tent in the rain. Woke up to a few inches of water in the tent, but at least we were there. Skies cleared up the next day and we got some great single pitch climbing it. Second day was a refresher on some easy 3 pitch climbs. Then came our big day of climbing. Mike and I did 8 pitches of Yankee Clipper, while Lauren and Susan did all 10. Great climb overall. Last day there we just bummed around and did some fun climbing.
