Red Hot Chili Peppers in Glasgow

This was a random concert. A guy a work couldn’t go so me and Peter headed down to Glasgow for the concert. Now concerts in Scotland are very different then in the US. You would expect a huge concert like the Chili Peppers at the National football stadium with general admission to get a bit crazy.... well not here. First off the stadium is literally in the middle of a residential neighborhood and it is a 60,000+ person venue. We parked on a side street next to houses that was a half mile from the stadium.... even weirder, there was no traffic at all. So we get inside and make our way down. The opening bands had finished, but it was still about 20 minutes before the Chili Peppers get on stage. So we make our way through the crowd to get a good spot. As we are moving through the crowd (which still wasn’t that thick yet), we get all these glares from people. As we come to find out, you aren’t supposed to “make your way to the front” even if it isn’t crowded. The show starts and there are a lot of people there, but no one pushes up. In fact, the whole show we had about 1 foot on either side of us for space. A very polite crowd, everyone gets their own little spot. HA! The concert gets over and we make our way back to the car.... once again, no traffic. Just weird.

All in all it was an ok show.

Made video of some of the highlights. We were too close and it messed up the sound a bit. Funny clip on there of Flea’s trumpet solo.
