Gotta admit, I was a bit skeptical when I got the email about a Pub Golf outing, but I thought I would give it a shot. The whole thing was in tribute to Ken Dunn, one of the guys in the office who is moving to Dubai for work. In all honesty I think it was an excuse to drink.
So the premise of Pub Golf is pretty simple. Each pub is a different hole. At each hole there is a designated drink that must be drunk in certain number of gulps to make par. Drink it in less gulps and you make birdie or better. Bogies, etc. if you go over. Overall lowest score wins. Leave it to the Scots to come up with something like this. Oh yeah, each person also had to dress like a golfer. The more outrageous the outfit the better chance you had being voted best dressed and having a chance at -3 points off your total score. So you can just imagine a mob of drunks walking through the city centre at 3pm all dressed like golfers, complete with golf shoes and golf gloves....... quite a sight.
Gotta give props to the organizers. They went all out. The event covered two cities, a train ride, dog racing, deep fried Mars bars, chance cards, and real score cards. Check out the pictures to get the full story.
