Our company each year sponsors two teams to enter into the Aberdeen Rowing Club’s Inter-Company Rowing Regatta. I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to get on one of this year’s teams. The whole concept of the Regatta is to get people who have never rowed before introduced to the sport. I thought it would be fun, 5 lessons and then a day of races. We’ve all seen crew boats going down river before right? Looks easy enough..... Well it isn’t! It actually takes a lot of coordination, timing, and balance..... all of which our 4 person team struggled with. The whole experience was a great time and our team had a lot of fun. We definitely weren’t the best team there, but we were far from the worst. We won one out of three races and I think we were happy with that.
