Hillwalking - Derry Lodge

This is the first of hopefully many trips to the Scottish mountains for hiking. We hiked the beginning of the Cairngorm range of mountains. Great thing is that it is only about 1.5 hours from Aberdeen. We drove to Linn of Dee and then hiked 3 miles into a place called Derry Lodge to camp for the night. Next morning we started to hike up the mountains. Didn’t make it as far as we would have liked, but did manage to get to a peak 900m up that had some great views. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for some great panoramic shots
