Sailing Greece 2006

This vacation was one of the best I have ever taken. Everything was perfect. Great friends, great weather, perfect wind, and a great crew. Part of what made this vacation so great was the fact that we did almost zero planning to make it happen. It just kinda happened and happened for the best. All we knew was we were renting a sailboat from a Greek work colleague, had 9 days, and we would start and finish in Athens. Other then that we were going to make it up as we went along. A few days before the trip we had our only instructions........ meet the sailboat, the Iole, and captain in Mykonos. JD, Scott, and myself all got into Athens on Saturday and made our way to the hotel. What about Jeff?? Well, he was flying into Mykonos on Sunday.... we would just meet him then. Well, where will the boat be on Mykonos?? hhhhmmmm..... not really sure. How will we let Jeff know where to meet us?? hhhmmmmmm.... we’ll figure it out when we get there. Then JD dropped another one on us..... the captain didn’t speak much English. Great! We are meeting a boat someone where on Mykonos and we have to try and track down a captain who doesn’t speak English! Oh well, we’ll worry about it when we get there. In the meantime, let’s enjoy Athens.......
