So I met some climbers who invited me along with them to Spain for some much needed sport climbing. Headed down Thursday night and made a late night arrival into Costa Daurada about an hour outside of Barcelona. Motley crew of climbers..... but a bunch of good Brits. Though the whole time I was down there I was bombarded with “high-fives” and shouts of “Hell Yeah!”.... apparently this is what everyone does in USA. Guess they were trying to make me feel like I was back in America. Learned some useful Scottish words too.... it isn’t a house, it is a hoose.... it isn’t head, it is heed... it isn’t Michigan, it is Mitch-i-ginn....
While the rest of the guys got to enjoy Spain for 12 days, I had to head back after two days of climbing, way too short, but well worth the trip. Sunny weather, great climbing, cold beer, and good company.
Even managed to lead climb a 6b (5.10d by American standards).... though it was all downhill from there.
