My first taste of some Scottish traditions was partaking in Burn’s Night. A Scottish holiday dedicated to Robert Burns. From what I could tell he was a writer, a poet, a ladies man, and a true Scot. To be honest I think it is just an excuse to wear a kilt, drink Scotch (heavily), and dance Scottish style (a lot like square dancing). Even ate some haggis. Pretty good stuff. Though I still don’t know what it is made of. To truly enjoy the night I also rented a kilt. Surprisingly they are pretty comfortable. One of the funny things about wearing it was that it has no pockets, so to carry stuff you have what I would call a purse. Don’t call it that to a Scot, they get pretty offended.
