Wow this event is great. I have been working for ExxonMobil for 5 years and this is my 5th time going to Nationals. The meet is a lot of fun, but another big reason to go is the party after the meet. Every year something crazy happens, and this year was no exception. Wish I could tell everyone, but there are rules of unspoken secrecy when it comes to the party.
As for the running, we had good team this year. Usually we are have a lot of depth in both the mens and womens distance events, but this year we were a bit lacking. We even had to scratch the Distance Relay, an event we usually dominate. All said we still did alright. We managed a silver in the men’s mile and a third in the pyramid relay. The real superstars from this year were our sprinters who broke two Exxon records and got two gold medals! Overall we ended up in third place. We seem to get third every year!
I didn’t take any pictures at the track meet, but here are some of the other shots that people sent to me. I also have some of Jason’s photos (also went back to Houston for his wedding). The day after the track meet a few of us went white water rafting in Idaho Springs, and I stuck around Colorado for another week hiking, camping, bumming around and checking everything out.
